Why Los Reales Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Los Reales homeowners live in a community of 5,000 within a larger metro area of 2.5+ million, and the steady 2.17% annually growth rate means more yards, driveways, and small construction projects around town. That rising demand drives a need for reliable bulk materials delivered on schedule. Local climate matters: with 228/year sunny days, 33.20 inches of annual rainfall, and a hardiness zone of 8b, projects must balance sun exposure, occasional heavy rain, and heat-related soil behavior. In practice this increases demand for well-graded base materials, erosion-resistant topsoils, color-stable surface products, and mulches that reduce moisture loss. Homeowners are favoring low-water landscaping, permeable surfaces, and outdoor living upgrades, so access to a range of locally sourced gravel, dirt, sand, mulch, and stone helps projects finish faster and perform better in Los Reales conditions.Popular Projects in Los Reales This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Los Reales Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Los Reales.
Pick materials based on function: drainage, stability, and final appearance. In Los Reales' desert climate you’ll want materials that drain well and resist erosion; consider gravel, sand, dirt, stone for base, leveling, or finish layers depending on the look and load. Use our material calculator and samples to compare textures and colors, and contact our team if you need help matching a product to your project.
Terms such as "minus" or "crushed" indicate a mix of rock plus fine particles that lock together when compacted. That mix helps form a stable surface for driveways or bases, but how well it compacts depends on moisture, thickness, and compaction equipment. For best results, plan for mechanical compaction and follow recommended lift (layer) depths for your project.
No, not all dirt is appropriate for structural fill. Use clean, compactable fill for foundations or driveways and reserve looser, organic topsoil for planting areas; gravel, sand, dirt, stone sourced locally can vary, so choose fill based on compaction needs and avoid material with lots of roots or organic matter for structural work. When in doubt, ask a contractor or request soil testing for critical projects.
Calculate volume by multiplying length (ft) x width (20 ft) x depth (inches) and divide by 324 to get cubic yards (or divide cubic feet by 27). For example, a 100 ft long driveway at 4 inches depth is (100 x 20 x 4) / 324 ≈ 25 cubic yards. Keep in mind minimum orders (3 tons on our platform), conversion between cubic yards and tons varies by material, and it’s smart to order an extra 5-10% for compaction and grading waste.
Total cost depends on material choice, depth, delivery distance, site access, and any base or grading work required; material plus delivery can range widely. For an accurate estimate, get a quote for the specific materials you want through our platform and include any labor or equipment you’ll need. We show transparent pricing once you enter your zip code and project details.
A common starting mix for improved planting beds is about 70% native soil to 30% compost or organic amendment, but the ideal ratio depends on your plants and local soil. In Los Reales’ arid environment you may need more organic matter or irrigation adjustments to retain moisture. Always test your soil first and adjust the mix rather than relying on a single rule for every situation.
Aggregate size and gradation influence strength, workability, and finish of concrete and hardscapes, but specific mix proportions are project- and engineer-dependent. Instead of general rules, follow manufacturer or engineer specifications for concrete mixes and use pre-mixed products for small jobs to avoid mix errors. If you’re supplying aggregates for a contractor, confirm the required gradation and quality before ordering.
Standard delivery is typically 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Deliveries are made by contracted dump trucks (usually tri-axle); minimum order is 3 tons, and drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion. You can choose your delivery date at checkout, and our platform provides upfront pricing and scheduling when you enter your zip code.
Because we source regionally, texture and color can vary from photos; that natural variation is normal. Contact our customer service as soon as possible to request order changes—early changes are easier to accommodate but not guaranteed once processing begins. If there’s an issue with the delivery, reach out promptly so we can work to resolve it.
Permit and testing requirements depend on the scope of your project and local Los Reales rules; small landscaping deliveries usually don’t need permits, but structural work often does. For load-bearing or engineered projects, plan for proper site prep, compaction testing, and contractor coordination. Check with local authorities or your contractor before ordering, and let us know any site restrictions at checkout so drivers can plan access.
Drivers may be able to perform limited tailgate spreading at their discretion, but spreading is not guaranteed and depends on site conditions and safety. For precise spreading, placement, or landscaping finish work, hire a local laborer or contractor and request delivery times that align with that crew. You can note special instructions at checkout and we’ll pass them to the hauler to help plan the drop.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
