Why Grant County Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Grant County is home to 2,372 residents within the Barnes County, North Dakota Region and sits inside a metro area of 2.4+ million people. A steady 1.32% annual growth rate indicates gradual, sustained demand for new homes, driveway repairs, and property upgrades—enough to keep local contractors busy and encourage more DIY projects. The local environment—228 sunny days per year and 33.50 inches of annual rainfall in hardiness zone 8b—creates a mix of expectations: outdoor spaces that get heavy use during long sunny periods, but also a need to manage runoff and moisture. That combination makes reliable bulk materials—gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and engineered fills—important for durable driveways, stormwater control, planting beds, and foundation prep. Regional sourcing matters here because locally produced materials reflect the geology and performance traits homeowners need for long-lasting results.Popular Projects in Grant County This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Grant County Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Grant County.
Consider the job's purpose first: will you need drainage, load-bearing support, a decorative finish, or erosion control? In Grant County's climate, choose materials that handle freeze-thaw and runoff; compare options by texture, compaction, and permeability. Use our material calculator or contact our sales team for a recommendation based on your site and desired finish.
Common projects include driveways and driveway repairs, landscaping beds and borders, patio bases, backfill and grading, and erosion control along ditches or slopes. Project sizes range from small garden beds (under a few cubic yards) to driveways and large grading jobs that require multiple truckloads. If you are unsure, our project calculator and team can help estimate quantities for your specific project.
A quick way to estimate: measure area in square feet, choose the depth in inches, then convert to cubic yards (area x depth ÷ 324). Because materials vary in density, use our online calculator or contact us for a ton estimate — and remember our minimum order is 3 tons. We can also run numbers for common projects so you get a practical recommendation.
Deliveries are typically made by tri-axle dump trucks, so confirm there is enough room for a large truck to turn and a safe drop zone. Provide clear delivery notes (gate codes, preferred drop location, obstacles) when ordering; if access is limited we may suggest a nearby staging spot. Also expect longer travel times and possible extra fees for extremely remote or hard-to-reach locations.
Yes. Spring thaw and local road weight restrictions can limit heavy truck access on some county and township roads, and winter snow can affect timing and access. Frozen ground sometimes makes delivery easier, while muddy spring conditions can restrict trucks. We recommend scheduling ahead of seasonal transitions and checking local road advisories if you plan deliveries during spring thaw or heavy snow periods.
For the most reliable access and reasonable weather, late spring through early fall is usually best, with summer and early fall offering the fewest weather-related delays. If you need faster service, place orders before noon CST to qualify for next-day delivery (additional fee may apply). Always choose a delivery date in checkout and include access notes so the driver can plan the safest drop.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, and you can request this in the order notes, but this service is not guaranteed. Drivers will assess safety and feasibility on arrival and may decline if conditions or truck setup make spreading unsafe. For full installation or spreading, plan to hire a local contractor or make separate arrangements.
Materials reflect local geology, so color, grain size, and texture can vary from photos or national examples. Regional sourcing means you get materials suited to local soils and climate, but exact matches to images cannot be guaranteed. If appearance is important, note your preference in order notes and ask our team for photos or local supplier details when available.
Most private property deliveries do not require permits, but deliveries that use or cross public roads, township routes, or require overweight/oversize travel may need local permits. Large commercial projects or deliveries that impact public right-of-way should check with Grant County or township offices before scheduling. If you are a contractor, confirm any permit needs in advance so delivery is not delayed.
Clear a flat, unobstructed drop zone and mark any underground utilities or sprinkler systems to avoid damage. Lay out a preferred drop location in the order notes, remove vehicles or obstacles from the access route, and protect lawns or sensitive areas if possible. Communicate gate codes or access rules and plan for where extra material will be stored temporarily.
Pricing varies by material, local supplier, distance, and road access; we provide transparent quotes at checkout and during the quote process. Standard delivery timing is 2+ business days with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay through our secure checkout.
Contact our team as soon as possible — changes are easiest before the order is processed or dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but modifications may be limited once the supplier and truck are scheduled. Check your order confirmation for next steps and contact details.
Choose materials that promote proper drainage and resist washout; for channels and ditches, larger, heavier aggregate combined with fabric or vegetation often works best. Consider seasonal runoff patterns during spring thaw and design slopes and outlets to handle peak flows. If you need guidance, our team can suggest material types and quantities suited for erosion control needs.
Contractors can get volume pricing and scheduled deliveries by contacting our sales team to set up recurring orders or bulk pricing arrangements. Provide project timelines, access details, and staging locations so we can coordinate multiple truckloads efficiently. We also recommend confirming site permits and road access in advance to avoid delays.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.
