Why Duchesne County Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Duchesne County homeowners are part of a community of about 30,000 (city population: 30,000) within a larger regional economy that supports steady development (metro area population: 2.4+ million). The area's measured growth (growth rate: 0.69% annually) points to steady, long-term demand for home improvements, landscaping upgrades, and incremental construction rather than rapid, large-scale building booms. Local climate and geography—hardiness zone 8b (hardiness zone: 8b), roughly 152 sunny days a year (sunny days: 152/year), and about 34.00 inches of rain annually (annual rainfall: 34.00 inches)—create a mix of conditions: extended workable seasons, strong sun exposure, and occasional wet periods. That combination favors a range of quality bulk materials—soils and topsoil mixes, mulches, sands, and well-graded aggregates—that balance stability, drainage, and moisture retention for driveways, planting beds, patios, and erosion control features.Popular Projects in Duchesne County This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Duchesne County Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Duchesne County.
Choose based on load, drainage, appearance, and maintenance needs. Consider the expected traffic (pedestrian, cars, heavy equipment), whether you need good drainage on slopes or low-maintenance surfacing, and the look you want for your property. Local climate and the site’s slope and soil will affect performance, so use our material quiz or contact our team for recommendations tailored to your project.
Duchesne County experiences cold winters, seasonal snow, and freeze-thaw cycles that can shift and settle loose materials. Materials chosen for good drainage and stability tend to last longer, and finer materials can rut or compact differently after freezes. Expect some seasonal movement and plan for occasional regrading or topping up.
Sites in the area can include clayey and silty soils that hold water and poorer-draining pockets near river valleys, plus sandier soils in other spots. Poor drainage increases settling and washout risk, so using a stable base, geotextile fabric, or a coarser drainage layer under surface materials can improve performance. Assess your site’s drainage before ordering to choose materials and depths that resist erosion and pooling.
Late spring through early fall is usually the easiest time for delivery and installation because the ground is not frozen and access is less likely to be muddy. Avoid deep freeze and thaw periods in winter and the muddy spring thaw when trucks may have trouble accessing sites. If you need winter delivery, plan for potential delays and limited spreading options.
Yes. Rural areas can have narrow or steep roads, low-clearance bridges, and seasonal weight limits that affect large dump trucks. We recommend clearing a drop zone, confirming driveway and road access, and flagging tight turns or low overhead lines before delivery so drivers can safely unload. If access is restricted, alternative delivery locations or smaller trucks may be needed.
Standard delivery typically requires 2+ business days and our minimum order is 3 tons. Next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Deliveries arrive on contracted dump trucks (typically tri-axle); drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion but spreading is not guaranteed.
Pricing usually includes a material cost plus a delivery fee based on distance, truck type, and site access, and some areas may offer free delivery. Additional charges can apply for short-notice requests, next-day service, difficult access, spreading, or hauling off excess material. Check our checkout for transparent pricing by zip code and contact our team if you need a detailed estimate.
Some local suppliers and contractors offer spreading, grading, compaction, and removal for an extra fee, but availability varies by supplier and site conditions. Tailgate spreading by the delivery driver is sometimes possible but always at the driver’s discretion for safety reasons. For precise grading or compaction, we recommend hiring a local contractor experienced with the area’s soils.
Possibly. County permits or local road permits may be required for new driveway connections, culverts, or work near public right-of-way, and HOAs may have rules on surface materials and appearance. Check Duchesne County offices and your HOA before ordering so you have the right approvals and avoid rework or removal.
Measure the area (length x width) and multiply by the desired depth to get volume, then convert to cubic yards (1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet). As a rule of thumb, many aggregates weigh roughly 1.2 to 1.7 tons per cubic yard depending on material and moisture, so use our online material calculator for a tailored estimate. Example: a 12' x 100' driveway at 3 inches depth is about 9.9 cubic yards (roughly 12–17 tons depending on material).
Materials that drain well and lock together perform better for erosion control and on slopes, while finer materials can wash away more easily in heavy runoff. For snow removal, more stable, compacted surfaces resist rutting when plowed; loose, fine materials can be displaced by plows. Match material size and compaction method to the slope, runoff conditions, and snow-plow routine at your site.
Natural materials vary by region, so color, texture, and gradation can differ from photos. Contact our customer service as soon as possible to report concerns or request order changes; we will do our best to accommodate requests before dispatch but changes may be limited after trucks are dispatched. Refer to our policies for details and keep photos handy if you need to report an issue.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
