Why Eastmark Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Eastmark, with a city population of 100,000, sits inside a rapidly growing Arizona region experiencing a 2.17% annual growth rate. The local climate—about 228 sunny days per year, a hardiness zone of 8b, and roughly 33.20 inches of annual rainfall—drives steady demand for residential build-outs, yard grading, and drainage upgrades. The area’s desert-influenced soils and periodic rain events mean homeowners and contractors often need material to raise grades, fill depressions, and create stable pads for patios, sheds, and driveways. As neighborhoods expand within a metro area of 2.5+ million residents, reliable aggregates are essential to keep projects on schedule and to protect investments from erosion and settling caused by intense sun and episodic storms.Popular Projects in Eastmark This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Eastmark Fill Dirt Delivery
Everything you need to know about fill dirt delivery in Eastmark.
Fill dirt is subsoil with few organic materials used to raise grade or fill holes; it is not topsoil for planting. In Eastmark and the Phoenix area you’ll commonly see sandy loams, clayey subsoils, and caliche-rich fills that reflect local geology; texture and color vary by supplier.
Prices vary with supply, distance, moisture, and order size, but delivered fill dirt in the Arizona Region commonly ranges from about $12 to $30 per ton. A single tri-axle truckload (roughly 10 to 15 tons) typically totals in the $150 to $450 range, though exact quotes depend on your zip code and volume.
Use this formula: cubic yards = (square feet x inches of depth) / 324. Then convert to tons using a practical factor of about 1.3 tons per cubic yard (varies with moisture and compaction). For example, raising 1,000 sq ft by 4 inches is about 12.35 cu yd, or roughly 16 tons.
Gravel can raise grade and provides excellent drainage, but it behaves very differently from compactible fill dirt. For under-slab or load-bearing areas you’ll usually want engineered fill or compacted base rock placed and compacted per local code; consult your engineer or the City of Mesa requirements before substituting.
Eastmark is in the City of Mesa, and larger grading projects or fill that changes drainage often require permits or plan review. Check City of Mesa Planning and Development and your Eastmark HOA for thresholds and requirements; suppliers typically do not obtain permits for you but can provide material descriptions if you need documentation.
Hello Gravel connects you to local landscape yards, pit operators, and aggregate suppliers serving the Phoenix/Mesa area. Minimum deliveries vary by supplier but commonly start at Hello Gravel’s minimum of 3 tons; some yards may have 5-to-10-ton minimums for truck deliveries—ask before ordering.
Many suppliers offer blended products (fill blends, compactable sub-base, or base rock mixes) depending on local pits. Onsite placement, compaction, and professional grading are usually provided by separate contractors; drivers may perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but Hello Gravel does not guarantee spreading or compaction services.
'Poor man’s concrete' usually refers to mixing soil or sand with a small amount of Portland cement to stabilize a surface. It can work for temporary or low-load patches, but it is not a substitute for proper concrete for structural elements; ingredients (cement, sand) are available at local big-box stores and landscape suppliers, but consult a contractor before using it for anything structural.
Hello Gravel’s standard delivery window is 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. During peak landscaping and construction seasons lead times can extend to several business days depending on local pit inventory and truck availability, so check available dates at checkout.
You can pay online with major credit cards, PayPal, or Apple Pay and choose your delivery date in checkout. Modify orders as soon as possible—changes are easier before dispatch—and note that bulk materials are rarely returnable, so we recommend ordering 5% to 10% extra to cover compaction and waste; contact Hello Gravel customer service promptly if there are issues.
