Why Peel Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Peel is a small but active community of 400 residents where steady growth at 1.20% annually is keeping local construction and landscaping projects moving. That steady expansion—mirrored by a West Arkansas metro area of 2.5+ million—means more homeowners are repairing driveways, updating yards, and adding hardscape and drainage features. Peel’s climate, with 228 sunny days and 34.25 inches of rain a year in hardiness zone 8b, supports year-round work but also creates specific needs: materials that balance durability under sun exposure, good drainage during heavy rains, and stability in varied soils. For projects from patios and walkways to grading and garden beds, reliable bulk supplies—gravel, sand, topsoil, mulch, and stone—help avoid rework, control erosion, and protect planting zones. Choosing regionally sourced, correctly graded materials matters here because local geology and weather patterns determine how aggregates compact, shed water, and age over time.Popular Projects in Peel This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Peel Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Peel.
Peel's West Arkansas climate and local soils influence how materials behave over time. Wet seasons and freeze-thaw cycles can cause settling or washout, while clay-rich soils hold moisture and may need extra drainage; choose materials and installation methods that account for local drainage and compaction. For many projects, adding a well-graded base, proper slope, and geotextile will improve longevity for gravel, sand, dirt, and stone.
For drainage and erosion control, choose aggregates that promote water movement and resist washout, combined with landscaping measures like vegetation and erosion fabric. Well-graded mixes and coarser particles are often used in channels and slopes, while finer materials can top dress flatter areas. Always match the material to site conditions and use geotextile or retaining edges on steep grades.
Start by identifying the project goal: structural base, surface finish, drainage, or planting beds. For load-bearing work like driveways choose stable, well-graded base materials; for patios and paths focus on a clean, compactable surface material. Consider local climate, expected traffic, and desired look, and use Hello Gravel's material calculator or speak with our team for guidance.
Quantity depends on area and desired depth; common depths range from 2-4 inches for top dressing to 6-12 inches for structural base. Use the formula: area (sq ft) x depth (ft) to get cubic feet, then convert to cubic yards or tons — our online calculator can do this for you. Remember to order a little extra for compaction and grading, and confirm minimum order requirements.
Hello Gravel generally requires a 3-ton minimum order and offers standard delivery in 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. We source materials regionally, and delivery costs or availability may vary by zip code — check your zip on our site for exact options. Delivery is by local contracted dump trucks, and some areas may qualify for free delivery.
Access factors like drive width, overhead clearance, road surface, and distance from supplier affect truck routing, drop-off location, and labor, and these can influence price and scheduling. Narrow drives, long carry distances, or neighborhood restrictions may require special equipment or spotters and could add fees or time. Tell us about site access at checkout and provide clear drop-off instructions to help avoid delays.
Yes. Spring and fall landscaping seasons typically increase demand and can lengthen lead times, while heavy rains or freeze conditions can delay deliveries or limit safe placement. Planning ahead and choosing off-peak delivery windows reduces the chance of delays. If you need faster service, ask about next-day options when ordering early in the day.
Local regulations, county permits, or HOA rules may apply to driveway changes, large deliveries, or work in public right-of-way, so check with Peel city offices or your homeowners association before ordering. Road or weight restrictions can also affect delivery routes and require permits for heavy trucks. When in doubt, contact our team and your local authorities to confirm requirements.
Common issues include settling, washout, migration of fines, and dust. Mitigate these by proper site preparation, compaction, correct depth, edge restraints, and using geotextile where needed. Regular maintenance like topping up high-traffic areas and addressing drainage will extend the life of the installation.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed and depends on safety and site conditions. You can request spreading in the Order Notes, and the driver will assess whether it can be done upon arrival. For guaranteed placement or grading, plan to hire local labor or contractors.
Because we source materials regionally for Peel and West Arkansas, texture and color will reflect local geology and can vary from photos or samples. Expect natural variation in gravel, sand, dirt, and stone, and include color or size preferences in Order Notes when possible. If appearance is critical, request a sample or ask our team for local supplier options before ordering.
Contact Hello Gravel as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order; modifications are easier before the order is processed or dispatched.
