Why Pike County Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Pike County is home to a close-knit community of 10,000 residents experiencing steady development as local demand rises with a 2.50% annual growth rate. That steady growth translates into more remodeling, new driveways, garden upgrades, and small-scale construction projects—all of which increase demand for bulk materials. The region’s climate—228 sunny days and 33.90 inches of annual rainfall in hardiness zone 8b—means homeowners and contractors need materials that manage both sun exposure and seasonal runoff. Locally sourced aggregates, dirt, sand, mulch, and stone perform differently here than in other regions, so selecting the right texture, gradation, and drainage capacity matters. For homeowners, that means choosing materials that limit erosion during heavy rains, resist sun-driven drying and color fade, and provide stable bases for driveways, patios, and planting beds. As development continues, quality bulk materials help projects last longer and require less maintenance in Pike County’s specific conditions.Popular Projects in Pike County This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Pike County Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Pike County.
Delivery cost depends on material type, order size, distance from the supplier, and any special services (expedited delivery or tailgate spreading). Many Pike County orders meet our minimum and qualify for free standard delivery, but next-day or remote deliveries may carry an extra fee. The fastest way to know is to request a quote for your zip code and material amount.
Yes. We commonly deliver across Pike County, including Glenwood, Murfreesboro, and surrounding rural roads and properties served by local zip codes. Enter your zip code at checkout to confirm supplier coverage and exact delivery options for your address.
Late spring through early fall (roughly April through October) is ideal for most outdoor deliveries and installation because ground conditions are drier and access is easier. Winter and early spring can bring rain and freeze/thaw conditions that make sites muddy or restrict truck access, so plan ahead for those seasons and allow extra lead time.
Pike County's soils and terrain can include clayey or loamy soils, slopes, and low-lying floodplain areas; these conditions influence whether you need material with better drainage or more structural fill. For sites near waterways or in mapped floodplains, you may need engineered fill, additional compaction, or permit approvals. Tell our team about your site's soil and drainage so we can recommend suitable mixes of gravel, sand, dirt, and stone.
Typical single-car driveways are about 8 to 12 feet wide and 40 to 60 feet long, while two-car driveways are commonly 16 to 24 feet wide. As a rough guide, a single-car driveway often needs about 3 to 6 tons of material for a 2 to 3 inch top layer; a two-car driveway commonly needs 6 to 12 tons depending on length and depth. Use our material calculator or contact our team with exact dimensions to get a tailored estimate.
Standard delivery is scheduled for 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is often available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Our minimum order is 3 tons, which covers most small homeowner projects; same-day service is limited and depends on local supplier and truck availability.
Permitting requirements vary by project and location; small landscaping deliveries usually do not require permits, but importing large volumes of fill or working in floodplains, wetlands, or near streams may need county or state approvals. Check with Pike County planning or city offices for site-specific rules before ordering, and let us know if you suspect your project may need permits so we can note it on the delivery.
Prices reflect local geology and trucking distance, so Pike County rates are generally similar to nearby counties but can be higher for remote or hard-to-reach locations. Regional market shifts, quarry supply, and seasonal demand also affect pricing. The best approach is to request a local quote so you can compare exact costs and delivery options.
Landscape contractors, driveway and roadbuilders, general contractors, and septic or erosion-control specialists frequently buy bulk materials for residential and commercial jobs. They expect reliable scheduling, consistent material specs, the ability to order larger volumes, and clear communication about delivery timing and any on-site constraints.
Yes. Peak landscaping seasons, heavy rains, and winter weather can limit access to quarries or local roads and cause temporary supply tightness or price increases. To avoid delays and higher costs, plan larger projects early, order ahead of peak season, and consider flexible delivery dates.
Clear a solid drop zone free of low wires, overhead branches, and soft ground before delivery; flag or mark the preferred dumping spot and note any access gates or bridges in the order notes. Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but it is not guaranteed, so plan for a small crew or tools to spread and grade material if needed.
As of today, we require 2 business days for delivery.

We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
