Why Jensen Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Jensen is a small but active community with a population of 780. Its steady growth—about 2.10% annually—signals ongoing demand for residential updates, new landscaping, and light infrastructure work that drives regular need for bulk materials. Being part of a broader metro area of 2.5+ million further amplifies development pressures and influences material availability and delivery logistics. Jensen's climate (USDA hardiness zone 8b), 228 sunny days per year, and annual rainfall of 34.32 inches shape practical material choices: select products that balance moisture retention with permeability, resist UV and sun damage, and manage seasonal runoff. Local geology means sand, dirt, stone, and mulch will vary in texture and color, so choosing the right gradation and consistency matters for long-term performance and reduced maintenance across yards, driveways, and small-scale construction projects.Popular Projects in Jensen This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Jensen Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Jensen.
Homeowners and contractors in Jensen commonly order gravel, sand, dirt, and stone for driveways, base material, top dressing, leveling, and drainage. Choose a material based on the project: coarser mixes for drainage and base layers, finer materials for leveling or top dressing, and decorative stone for appearance. Local sourcing means texture and color can vary, so note preferences in your order notes.
Jensen’s hot summers and cold, freeze-thaw winters mean you should plan around temperature and moisture. Avoid major deliveries during freeze conditions or heavy spring thaw when trucks may get stuck and materials won’t compact properly; summer and fall are generally better. Pick materials that handle repeated freezing and thawing and prioritize good drainage for long-term performance.
Common projects include driveway builds or repairs, patio bases, yard makeovers, erosion control and regrading, raised beds, and small grading or utility backfill. Many of these projects need different materials in series (for example, base material then a top layer), so plan quantities and delivery timing accordingly. Contractors and DIYers often order multiple deliveries for staged projects.
Start with the area and desired depth to get cubic yards: length x width x depth (in feet) divided by 27. Typical ranges: small garden beds 1–3 cubic yards, a 2-car driveway at 4" depth about 5 cubic yards, and larger driveway or yard projects 10–30+ cubic yards. Convert to tons only after choosing a material, since density varies; a rough rule is about 1.2–1.6 tons per cubic yard depending on the material.
Yes—narrow roads, steep or soft driveways, and limited turnaround space can all affect delivery logistics and cost. Most deliveries use tri-axle dump trucks, so if access is tight or the driver must hand-place material, additional fees or alternative delivery plans may apply. Provide photos and clear drop-location notes at checkout to help carriers prepare.
Permitting and road restrictions vary by county and local jurisdiction. Some roads or HOA rules limit where dump trucks can park or offload, and oversized loads or work in public right-of-way may require permits. Check with local authorities and let us know about any special rules so we can coordinate with the carrier.
Minimum orders are generally 3 tons, and standard delivery is scheduled for 2+ business days with no extra fee in many areas. Next-day delivery is often available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Delivery fees and availability depend on your zip code, material type, and distance from local suppliers—enter your zip code to get exact pricing.
Late spring through early fall is usually the best window for deliveries in Jensen because roads are drier and crews can compact materials properly. Avoid scheduling during freeze-thaw periods, heavy rains, or peak winter storms when access and compaction are difficult and scheduling can be slower. If you have a strict timeline, book early and consider the next-day option where available.
Dust control and drainage are common concerns in Utah’s climate; choose materials with appropriate particle sizes and angularity for compaction and runoff control. For areas exposed to de-icing salts, select durable aggregates that resist breakdown and avoid mixes that will wash away easily. If dust is an issue, consider following up with a finer top layer, tackifier, or a stabilizing treatment recommended by your contractor.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, and you can request it at checkout, but it is not guaranteed. The driver will assess safety, site access, and time when they arrive and decide whether spreading is feasible. Plan for possible additional cleanup or redistribution after delivery.
Provide the full delivery address and zip code, a clear preferred drop location, any access notes (gates, narrow roads, steep grades), and photos if access is tight. Add material color or size preferences in the Order Notes, and select a delivery date window; contact our team if you need to request permits or coordinated street access ahead of time. Early communication helps avoid delays or extra charges.
Contact our team as soon as possible; changes are easiest before the order is processed and dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate modifications or cancellations, but ability to change depends on supplier and carrier schedules. If an issue arises on delivery, reach out promptly so we can work toward a satisfactory resolution.
